John M. Benson – Principal
Mr. Benson is a Co-founder and Principal of Benson Badger Advisory Group Inc.
Mr. Benson serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Keystone Royalty Corp. and the VP Finance for Villanova 4 Oil Corp.
He has a Commerce degree from the University of Victoria and holds the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation.
Mr Benson is a Board member, Chair of Audit and Review Committee at Conexus Credit Union.
In his spare time, Mr. Benson is part of the finance committee at Westminster United Church, a director of Life by Life youth organization, and coaches community youth basketball, football, and rugby.
Matt N. Badger – Principal
Mr. Badger is a Co-founder and Principal of Benson Badger Advisory Group Inc. Mr. Badger’s career has focused on global mergers & acquisitions spanning the value chain in agriculture from primary land ownership and operations to processing facilities and international export terminals.
Mr. Badger also serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Canterra Capital Corp. (“Canterra”), a Regina based private company providing farmland management services exclusively to its Limited Partners. Canterra manages 175,000 acres of farmland in Canada and has a global investment mandate focused on large-scale opportunities in leading agricultural regions in North America, Latin America, Australia and Eastern Europe. Mr. Badger is responsible for global transaction valuation, due diligence and deal execution at Canterra and oversees the finance function of the farmland portfolio.
Prior to Canterra, Mr. Badger was a member of the Corporate Development group at Viterra (acquired by Glencore in 2012), where he was involved in over $8 billion of corporate transactions and played a key role in corporate mergers, acquisitions and divestitures across Canada, the U.S. and Australia.
Mr. Badger has a Bachelor of Business Administration (with Distinction) from the University of Regina, where he majored in Finance, and holds the Chartered Business Valuator designation.
